Evening Concerts at the Zoo



Now:







The initiation of a group of patriots took form in 1866
and the first Hungarian Zoo opened its gates to the sound of the midday bell on August 9th.
Besides Hungarian species the zoo housed several rare species of monkeys, lemurs, parrots, camels, kangaroos and other special animals. It had neither lions, nor tigers or elephants at that time. The first giraffe arrived two years after the opening in 1868. It was donated to the Zoo by Franz Joseph with Queen Elizabeth's intervention.

there are unique programs in the Zoo every Wednesday evenings at half past 8 p.m.

August 14, 1943 was born in Barazin, Syria.
Lives in Hungary since 1967.
Since 1968, deals with photography, in group and solo exhibitions nationwide.
His exhibition is to be seen till the 19th of July at Galery Kecskeméti Kortárs Művészetek, Budapest, 
9th district, Üllői út 3., Tuesday to Friday 2 p.m.-6 p.m.









     Pieter Hugo 

was born 1976 and grew up in Cape Town, South Africa. He is a South African photographer 
who primarily works in portraiture 
and whose work engages with both documentary and art traditions with a focus on African communities.
His exhibition is to be seen till the 11th of August in Ludwig Museum, 
Budapest, 
9th district, Komor Marcell u.1.

French films at Holdudvar during the whole summertime

From 1 July till 19 August, every Monday evening at 9 p.m., Holdudvar on Margaret Island is home to many exclusive French film screenings. The International Film Festival at Cannes shows the world every year the mighty prowess of French film makers. The Institut français de Budapest now brings the humour, vigour, unconventionality and free artistic expression to Margaret Island of all the films you wanted to watch but couldn’t find, or never even knew existed but missed all the more for it. All the films have English subtitle.
Tickets are only 900 ,-Ft/each film.
Do not forget to bring something against of the mosquitos and also some blankets,
some nights are can be cold!
